Italian long jumper earns🥈in Istanbul

Born 18 July 2002, Italian long jumper Larissa Iapichino won the silver medal at the 2023 European Indoor Championships in Istanbul. Iapichino, who is the reigning European U20 champion, jumped 6.80 meters to finish second behind Serbia's Ivana Vuleta, who won the gold medal with a jump of 6.96 meters. This is Iapichino's first major international medal at the senior level.

Iapichino has been one of the most promising young long jumpers in the world for several years. She set the world indoor U20 record in 2019 with a jump of 6.91 meters. She also won the gold medal at the 2019 European U20 Championships. Iapichino is now one of the favorites to win a medal at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest.
